What data do we process from you, what do we use it for and how long is it kept?
Data for processing your order
If you order something, we need certain data from you in order to deliver your order and keep you informed about your order. We also need this data for any returns or repairs. For this, we collect your name, e-mail address, delivery address(es), payment information and your phone number. The data are needed to execute the agreement you have made with us. In your personal account we store the following data: your name, (delivery and home/branch) address(es), phone number, email address, date of birth (if you have provided it), payment details, gift certificates and gift cards. In your account, we also store your order history including chosen delivery options, including the digital items and subscriptions you have taken out. In addition, we store in your account the interests you specified, such as your wish list, any linked Parker's Bay apps, and your email and personalization preferences. We keep the data in your account for as long as you are an active customer with us. If you have not logged in with us for 7 years, we will delete all of your data. In addition, you can request that we delete your data in your account at any time.

We have a legitimate interest in using these interactions to improve our services. We keep the telephone conversation for 1 month. When you send us a private message via Twitter or Facebook, the messages are kept by us for up to 6 months, or shorter if you delete the message yourself earlier.
Data for an optimal shopping experience
We would like to help you find what you are looking for among all the items on Parker's Bay. First of all, we make sure that our website works properly so that you can store optimally. To do this, when you visit Parker's Bay, we collect your IP address, information about your Internet browser, any language settings and information about the settings of the operating system of the computer or mobile device with which you visit us. We also ensure that Parker's Bay is as relevant as possible by tailoring our store to your personal preferences. To do this, we collect your search, click and purchase behavior at Parker's Bay. We use this data to map generic customer patterns so that we can deploy them at the individual level. Our customer promise is to make our customers' lives easier and more enjoyable. Therefore, we keep this data for as long as you are an active customer with us. If you have not logged in with us for 7 years, we will delete all your data. If you want to know more about this and change your preferences, please refer to your account.
Improving the shopping experience based on general information and sales statistics
When you view an item on Parker's Bay, you will also see other items that we recommend (for example, under the heading "Continue viewing" or "Others also viewed"). These recommendations are based on the article or category you are currently looking at. Based on statistics, we know that customers who bought that article were also interested in other articles. These recommendations are not personal: everyone viewing that article sees the same recommendations. If you search for a particular product, everyone sees the same similar products. Or we show you what other users were looking for based on your search. You also see this form of enhancing your shopping experience in physical stores. For example, items of the same type or that belong together are usually listed together. And the salesperson also knows what is popular and what other customers bought when they came into the store with the same question.
Personalization based on your account information and search, browsing and purchase history at Parker's Bay
If we know who you are (you'll see your name at the top of the homepage), we can make the store even more personal for you. Just like in your favorite physical store. The store clerk knows you and can make good recommendations based on your previous purchases and interests. Just like that store clerk, we also make recommendations. We look at what you previously searched for or bought from us, what's on your wish list and what interests you showed by viewing certain items in our store. So the product you just bought, we don't tip you off. We do this based on your surfing, searching and buying behavior. We look back no longer than two years. We collect this data based on cookie techniques, your IP address and the unique number linked to the mobile device you surf with. What we do not do is use this data to show you different prices when you visit Parker's Bay than other customers. However, it is possible that if you visit us again, we may have adjusted the price of some products in the meantime. We have an interest in applying this personalization, namely to make your life easier and our store better. You will find what you are looking for faster and will not be bothered with items and categories that are not relevant to you. If you do not appreciate personalized recommendations, you can turn them off in your account.
Data for marketing
Personalized emails.
We regularly have offers, special promotions and news that we want to share with you. We like to share those via email. If you have an account with us and have placed one or more orders, we will email you suggestions, information about our items and services based on your purchases and review requests. If you give us permission, we may also email you other information, such as the daily offer, general sweepstakes or personalized recommendations and information. These personal recommendations are based on your purchases and visit history of up to 2 years ago in order to make the content of the email more interesting to you. If you prefer not to receive this type of information, you can immediately unsubscribe from newsletters in your account.
Personalized advertisements
We, our ad networks and media agencies may show you ads on Parker's Bay and other websites. This is done based on your previous visits to our websites and third-party websites. Your browsing, search and purchase behavior are collected based on cookie techniques, your IP address and the ad number associated with the device you are browsing with. We only do this if you have given us permission to place cookies. Cookies are subject to a limited retention period and that period varies for each cookie.
Data from customer surveys
We are constantly improving our services and making them even more responsive to what customers want. Therefore, we may use your data (customer ID, email address and/or phone number) to invite you to participate in a no-obligation customer or market survey. In this way, you help make our store even better. Participation in a customer or market survey is completely voluntary. You decide whether you want to participate in the survey. How long your data linked to the results of the customer or market survey are stored varies per survey. We delete all data that can be traced back to you as soon as the survey is finally completed.
Data for reviews & Q&A
We love reviews. And so do our customers. Because reviews help you find what you're looking for. When you write a review, you choose whether your personal details or your name are visible to other visitors. You can also use an alias. You can also specify whether we may contact you about your review. We post reviews only with your permission. Because reviews are valuable to customers for a long time, we keep a review until you ask us to remove the review or until the review is removed by us under the review conditions.
Data for contests and promotions
If you participate in a promotion or contest, we ask you for data such as your name, address and/or e-mail address. We need these to be able to carry out the action and announce the prize winner(s). We collect this information with your permission. In the terms and conditions of the contest or promotion concerned, you can find out exactly what your data is used for and how long we store it.
Data to prevent fraud
Nobody wants security incidents and fraud, and neither do we. We therefore use personal data (including IP addresses and search, surfing and buying behavior) to investigate, prevent and counteract unauthorized access and fraud. For this purpose, we may also use the services of external service providers.
Post-payment
If you purchase items that you do not wish to pay for immediately, we may check your creditworthiness. We may use external agencies for this purpose.
Social media
If you use social media such as Facebook, 'like and share' buttons on Parker's Bay allow you to share articles you like, find useful or helpful with your friends on your social media account. Parker's Bay does not gain access to your social media account. We encourage you to carefully review the privacy policies of the social media parties where you have an account so that you know how your data is used and how to adjust your settings.
With whom will your data be shared?
Sales partners
When you place an order through Parker's Bay with one of our sales partners, that sales partner receives your name and delivery address. The sales partner needs this data to execute the agreement you have entered into with them. If this is necessary for the delivery, for example to make a delivery appointment, the respective sales partner also receives your telephone number. If you request a VAT invoice from a sales partner from a business purchase account, the sales partner receives your company name, business address, Chamber of Commerce number and order number for this purpose. If you contact our customer service in response to an order with one of our sales partners, we may forward your question or complaint to the sales partner for handling.
Distribution and logistics partners
In order to process your order, we cooperate with distribution partners. These parties receive your customer number, order number, name and delivery address to ensure that they can process your package appropriately. We also work with several logistics partners, such as PostNL, DPD, BPost and Dynalogic. Our logistics partners receive your name and delivery address from us. They need this information to deliver your package to your chosen address.
Other external service providers
We also engage other external service providers to help with various matters. Sometimes they need personal data to do so as well. We share only the data necessary for the task that the external service provider performs for us. We do not sell your data to these service providers or other third parties. And we conclude agreements with all external service providers in which we agree what they are allowed to do with the data. The types of work our external service providers perform for us are:
- Assisting in the delivery of our digital services such as the hosting, maintenance and support of our websites and applications;
- Assisting with our customer service;
- Assisting with our advertising and marketing campaigns;
- Assisting in conducting customer research and obtaining ratings and reviews;
- Providing financial services, such as payment services, collection agencies and credit reporting agencies.
Government
Sometimes we need to disclose personal data to the government. This may occur first and foremost when certain government agencies need this data to carry out their duties, such as the Internal Revenue Service. The police or judiciary may also need certain data in the case of fraud or abuse. Finally, certain regulators may access personal data as part of an investigation.
Only at your request: with other companies
If you wish, we also pass on your personal data to other companies, for example if one of our commercial partners has an offer for Parker's Bay customers. We will then only do this with your explicit consent.
### How do we handle data from our business sales partners?
We treat data of our business sales partners just as carefully as data of our customers. Therefore, this privacy policy also applies to our sales partners. When you sell through our platform as a private sales partner, in addition to the contact information you enter in your sales account (your name, your home address, your phone number and your bank account number), we also store your store name (this can be your own name, or an alias chosen by you) and the description you give to your store. When you sell through our platform as business sales partners, in addition to the contact information you enter in your sales account (the name of your company, the name of your company's contact person, email address, your contact address (and any other addresses), payment information and your phone number), we also store your Chamber of Commerce number and your VAT number. If you use the Seller API, we also store the name, email address and phone number of the party providing the connection. We keep sales account data for as long as you are an active seller with us. After that, we delete your data, except for the data that we must or may retain by law. Tax law requires us to keep certain data for a minimum of 7 years.
Where do we store your data?
We store your data within the European Economic Area ("EEA"). However, some of the data we collect may be transferred to or stored at a destination outside the EEA, for example because one of our third party service providers is located there. When this occurs, we ensure that this is done in a secure and lawful manner.
How will your data be secured?
Parker's Bay takes many measures to secure your personal data. Both organizationally and technically. We have a group of in-house specialists who work daily to secure our systems and search for vulnerabilities. Through strict access control, we ensure that your personal data is only accessible to employees for whom it is necessary for them to work with it. In addition, we at Parker's Bay regularly have our security tested by outside experts. Do we give your data to someone else? Then we require that the other party handles your data with the same care as we do. If you feel that this is not happening, please let us know via our customer service.
What rights can you exercise regarding your data?
Right of rectification
You have the right to have your personal data corrected if it is incorrect or outdated and/or to have it completed if it is incomplete. You can do this 24/7 through our customer service department.
Right to object
You have the right to object to the processing of your data if you disagree with the way we process your personal data. This right applies to the data we use for direct marketing. For example, you can ask us to stop using your data for personalized recommendations on the website. You can arrange this yourself in your account. In addition, this right also applies to other data we use from you based on our legitimate interest. For example, you can choose that we forget and continue to forget data about your surfing and search behavior. You can also control this yourself in your account. We process requests within 30 days at the latest.
Right to data portability
You have the right to receive data that you have given to us in connection with the agreement(s) you have concluded with us in a machine-readable format, so that you can store this data in a database of your own or of another party.
